It isn’t often that we get to have a real superhero in our midst. But that’s exactly what we had in Adam West.
The world lost a true class act this week and I couldn’t be happier that he’s been given the honors befitting one of his iconic status.
As a child growing up in the 60’s Batman was on our tv all the time. We watched the original series when it first came out as a family and then later when it was on after school in the afternoons.
The show was totally cheeky and over the top and that’s what made it so much fun to watch.
Playing the part of Batman somewhat thwarted Adam West’s career yet he embraced it leaving a legacy hard matched by anyone.
In a world that’s filled with so much hatred, it is comforting to know that there existed a man who had the ability to bring out so much love and admiration by so many. He touched lives quietly but deeply and he died as he had lived – peacefully and with great dignity.
It was truly touching to see last nights ceremony and Bat Signal in Los Angeles. There’s not another person more worthy of such accolades.
Just as there is only One True Ring, there is only One True Batman.
Rest in Peace Mr. West. May your journey be all smooth sailing Old Friend.
